Established in 2012, Floating Films is a unique cinema club hosted aboard the SB Repertor, a traditional 1920’s Thames sailing barge situated in St Katherine Docks, London. Through regular events and screenings we aim to raise the profile of this forgotten trade and preserve an important part of London’s history for future generations, as well establish a unique, independent arts venue in London.
Our programme focuses on films with a social conscience and includes shorts, features and documentaries, as well as special screenings with live music accompaniment, and talks with key industry guests.
Film screenings are held in the cosy reception of the barge with space for up to 40 guests, so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. Tickets must be reserved in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, and whilst we do not ask for an entrance fee, voluntary donations are always welcome!
We look forward to welcoming you aboard soon,
Reetta, Arvid, Jenny and Ben
Nobody says it better than our very own barge resident, Ben, in this lovely little video made by Ross McClure, enjoy!
